World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will gain 3% of its previous damage every time it's upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be applied. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using less Upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level with normal methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.
The player can have up to five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will drop in the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment even in the event that they don't know what can be improved upon the reset.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be costly, and there is a substantial chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the possibility of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible up to 15 levels.
You'll often see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Utilizing the Glyph will boost all nodes that are linked to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
upgrade item of upgrading items lets players increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of an item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When an individual player upgrades the equipment they have it is replaced by a new item. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback, as it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't require it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens to do this. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be repeated often, as it could waste lots of resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player repeatedly enters or exits water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the max roll by an increment of 10. This item is very important in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of the non-upgraded version.
Requirements
The item upgrader allows players to raise the level of their equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and armor) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense and upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal and also increase their strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded up to eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to revert back to its original state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned like chances to be crit damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
